I woke up yesterday morning and checked weather.com, my usual morning ritual. It said 12 degrees, feels like -1. As the rest of New York probably groaned at that news, I couldn’t have been more excited — the first really cold day.

I’ve heard people say, “It felt like my face was going to fall off” when describing cold weather, and indeed, after my 15-20 minute walk to work, it all started to make sense. There was also kind of a face tingle that felt the way your leg feels when it falls asleep. In short, it was awesome — now if only we could get some snow…
